Hi, I'm Emily 👋

I started my content career at an SEO agency, before moving into the startup world and eventually joining CareerFoundry, an online bootcamp teaching design and tech skills to career-changers. I started as the sole writer and editor, then helped to grow the editorial team and later took on the role of Managing Editor.

It was here that I really found my niche. Surrounded by UX designers, product experts and educators, I spent several years turning specialist knowledge into content that helped people learn new skills and navigate career changes.

In my four years at CareerFoundry, I learned what makes educational content really work. I researched complex topics, collaborated with subject experts, and found ways to make technical topics feel accessible and engaging.

Beyond content creation, I established processes and workflows that enabled us to grow the blog sustainably and consistently drive organic traffic and conversions.

As much as I enjoyed leading the editorial team, I realised I'd slowly moved further and further away from what I love most: writing great content. So in 2022, I decided to go freelance. And here I am still, always on the lookout for my next exciting project 🤩
